Heavy Diesel Service Mechanic – Wanaka 

Reporting to our workshop manager. Applicant must be qualified, skilled and experienced. You will be servicing our extensive plant fleet, ranging in: earthmoving equipment, trucks, quarrying plant, small plant.

Contracting Division, Estimator/QS/Project Manager – Wanaka

A new position suited to an experienced estimator and QS in the civil construction and earthmoving industry. This is the opportunity to join a great civil contracting team involved in a huge variety of work in the Central Otago region including residential subdivisions and Three Parks town centre. Someone that enjoys a systemised estimator and methodology role combined with project management in the field would really suit this position.

Hire Coordinator – Wanaka

Central Machine Hire have recently established a new machinery and truck rental sub-branch on Ballantyne Road in Wanaka, which is proving to be very busy servicing local contractors. This role involves the preparation of a large variety of equipment for hire and de-hire. Dealing with our clients on a day to day basis, this position would suit someone with good background knowledge of machinery and trucks who is well organised and good at paper work and systems. Heavy truck licence an advantage.

Hydro-Vac Truck Operator

We require an operator for our Hydro Vac/jetting unit. Mounted on a 8-wheeler truck is a state-of-the-art vacuum unit of 8000lt capacity, 2 water blasting units and a high flow high pressure jetting unit with a selection of heads for many different applications. 

We offer competitive pay rates, a great team environment and on the job training for the right applicant. Time and a half after 45 hours.

The Role

  • Operating Class 4 licence a necessity

  • Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging

 

Competencies

  • Knowledge of basic underground utilities

  • Skills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safely

  • Ability to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on time

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment

  • On the job training available for the right applicant

 

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs. Work is completed in differing locations.

 

Physical Demands

We require someone who is physically fit as digging and lifting heavy objects is involved.

hiab Operator

We are looking for an experienced hiab operator for one of our new PK50 hiabs. An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the demand in our workload, we have a position available for an individual to join our team. The position is available for a full-time operator, based out of our Wanaka depot. We offer competitive pay rates, a great team
environment. Time and a half after 45 hours. For the right applicant there will be the opportunity for the role to develop into mobile crane operation.

Key duties:

  • Operate equipment in compliance with appropriate legations and company systems.

  • Any duties required within the company.

  • Transport operations.

  • Dogman and rigging as required.

  • Paperwork completed daily.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Class 4 or 5 drivers license.

  • Relevant experience operating hiab’s

  • Qualification dogman/rigger cert.

  • Great communication skills.

  • A high level of accuracy.

  • Hiab ticket.

  • The skill to work independently and within a team.

  • Training and tickets available to the right applicant.
